My new hog gun

I decided to replace my Remington 742 that I'd been using with the night scope with an AR15 in 6.8 SPC. I finally got all the components yesterday and finished preparing the gun and scope tonight. Tomorrow night I'll sight it in at the hog lease and then hunt with it. It is much lighter and much shorter than the Remmy. Should be potent pig medicine.

they sure are sweet but what you have is sweeter. I have two big bore airguns a 45 and a 50 cal both power tuned and man do they put them down. but you only get one shot at a time and have to refill air about every 4 shots to keep the power up. Not nearly as efficient of a killing machine as what you have there. I love the 6.8 spc round sure hits hard.

Where's the ramrod? Is it flintlock or caplock? Does it come in curley maple or at least walnut?

Finally got a shot with the new gun after sighting it in tonight. Tried for a large sow but somehow didn't connect. Got a chance at a piglet as it ran across by the feeder and killed it on the run. How can you miss a 250lb pig standing still and then head shoot a 10lb pig on a dead run??

yep, the ar's are nice guns. i custom made this one for my daughter to use on the alexacarrie hog hunt. i did work up a good hunting load for close in hunting. used a barnes x tsx 62gr bullet slowed down to around 2600fps.

gstoneberg - maybe you should just throw a rock at the big sow and shoot her in the head on the run.
