Passing it on...
« on: August 30, 2012, 08:16:33 pm »
My little five year old cousin wanted went to see the movie Brave, and like a lot of young people who saw it, she was immediately was addicted to archery. She is a smart kid and knows I shoot and make equipment, so my Grandma promptly hired me to make her some archery equipment. I finished  up this little bow and arrow set, and she absolutely loves it!!! She is a natural and was shooting bulls eyes... Here smile when I gave it to her made my summer. This is what it is all about people... Passing it on...  ;D ;D ;D

How cute!! Get that girl an arm guard! I know the bow is too light, but she might as well get used to one. I let my wife shoot a bow without one several years ago and I still hear about the bruise, today.

Super cool Jon, I just took a pic like that also. My 8 year old daughter is always asking me to shoot, she can't shoot by herself yet ya know. Next she'll be asking you to help make the next bow.

Good going Infrit, nothing more rewarding in life than doing something nice for a child. The bow has a sweet bend to it and thats not always easy to achieve in those kids bows, nice work.
Now if she decides to take up hunting she'll need you to make her some buckskins, hard to sneak up on game in a pink tutu. Not that
I've tried it.

That would be something. Wish I could show the form she had in a video I took of her, unlike the above picture her elbow was in perfect alignment with the arrow and the shot was a dead bulls eye.. I was amazed..  ;D ;D

Not sure if I'm familiar with that Tartan. Must be Highland. Is it a traditional or  hunting  pattern? Hollywood sure has done their share for rekindling interrest  in trad. archery lately. Keep her interrested!
