last night i was doing some work on a white oak paddle bow, when my niece comes down stairs and says,"Bryce what in the world are you doing? making ANOTHER bow....."
" yes, keely"
and as soon as i turned my back to go grab a softer rasp from the shelf, i could hear the little scratching noises. and when i turned around this is what i saw.
i crouched down next to her and said,"what are you doing?"
"helping you make an arrow." she replied.
"you mean a bow?''
"Yeah! that."
"well keely would you like to make your own bow that you can take home?"
"Uncle bryce are you kidding me?"
"no, go pick out a piece of wood from the shelf there."
and she did she picked out a fine piece of Ocean spray. and we got to work!
REDUCING THE BELLY
after awhile i was getting yelled at.
"Bryce! stop it i can do it! your being a pine cone."
yes, a pine cone. that her 'bad word' that shes allowed to say lol
FILING THE NOCKS
DOING SOME PAINTING
AND THE FINAL PRODUCT OF HER LABOR.
there is a sad ending to this story. she didnt get to take it home this weekend bc the finish was still wet.
but we both had fun, and shes got a good weekend story to tell her mom and dad.
