Heck yeah, that one will put a deer down! Good job. Hickory is great stuff.
I have a hickory bow from a stave about those same dimensions. I showed it to a guy the other day that didn't know much about selfbows. He overdrew it by about four inches and held it back until I politely asked him to let it down. I expected cracking noises or at least additional set, but the bow went right back to it's original 1 inch of set. I learned two things from that experience: first, not to let just anyone draw my bow, and second, hickory is TOUGH.
