Target practice and scouting pic

Thanks! Yeah, I'm really going to be working hard at finding that buck and the other big one I have running around, but we'll see how it works out. Definitely more pics if it DOES pan out. The ground squirrel shot was a pretty lucky one. I was stalking one about 50yds away when that little guy popped up about 10 yds away. My first shot was low, but went through the dirt and into his burrow where it caught him trying to escape. Lucky, but I'll take it.

  If you have bucks that size (age) you'd better learn to do all your scouting and setting up hunting sites in the winter. All your doing scoutting now is letting the bucks know somethings up. ONCE THEY KNOW YOUR THERE IT JUST GOT 50 TIMES HARDERTO HUNT MATURE BUCKS. It only takets a time or two of buming older bucks. They stop moveing at all in the day light other than the rut.
  If you want to kill bucks of that cal. you can hunt the like doe's and 1 1/2 old bucks.

Dang, the only way I ever got one of those ground squirrels was to shoot into the dirt so it skewered them down a couple inches in the hole.  They were too quick to hit above ground.  Very impressive.  Nice buck too.

Thanks George! Actually if you look close enough you can see another arrow shaft right by his front-right leg. That arrow went in the ground short and hit him in the eye. The second arrow was a follow-up shot 'cause I wasn't sure I got him (was still kicking a little).
