yew miwok
« on: August 01, 2012, 04:11:45 pm »
Hello Guys
its been a while since I posted anything, but i promise I been really busy making bows. will post more too. Heres a sinew backed yew miwok bow, 3 layers of elk leg sinew and painted with natural pigments. Thebow is 40 inches and draws 38lbs @ 22 inches. It took no follow, maybe like 1/4 but goes back to a reflex after its been unstrung. As you can see im very happy with this bow :)

That is a neat little bugger Cesar!

Gorgeous. Your a master Legionnaire.

Very cool little bow. I'm thinking about another after breaking my short sinew backed yew paddle bow earlier this summer.  :(

Thanks PD
Thanks hrodes
Thanks hrothgar
Thanks coaster
Thanks eric
:) thanks Toomany

Pat sorry to hear that :( I think you should make another one for yourself. I tell you, yew and sinew make a great combo, especially a bend in the handle style. I have tried both the bend in the handle and the setback handle and I have to tell you, for shorter bows the bend in the handle type bows with sinew feel so alive and shoot great.

Whats the unbraced profile?  I saw a Miwok earlier in the day and it had a wild amount of reflex.

So Cesar, I suppose there's no talking you outta that one.  That is my kinda bow!  Never done a Miwok.  Got a book on them a few months ago with all intentions of doing one.  You are inspiring me!  Really like your decorations.  Just plain cool...

Cool little bow, Ceasar. I just laid one out at 46" the other day.
