Weekly wood harvest
« on: July 21, 2012, 01:28:26 am »
Had a good weekend of harvesting a little bow wood then today got even more, much more. My lovely wife and I spent the past weekend with a couple friends at their Mich. cabin along a beautiful stream in the woods. We all shot bows and when our friend Doug said cut some bow wood off the property if you like I went to the truck for tree saw.
The first five pictures are of the cabin weekend.
1. hazel, amer. hornbeam, hazel, white oak
2. Same
3. Black locust short bow stave roughed in that I took along to work by the fire.
4. Same
5. The Hounds (they had so much fun I had to include a picture)
6. Half of the 12 elm stave splits, (probably 20 bows worth total) that my friend steve and I split this afternoon in his horse pasture after weds. storm took it down back here in Illinois.
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.
