Tri-lam - Hickory, Purpleheart, White oak

I had the glue up for this bow sitting around for a long time after two sub par attempts at the same style with different belly woods. Waited a couple years, gained some experience, and this one came out way better than the others. 1/4" Hickory backing, with a 1/4" purpleheart core, and started with a 1/2" belly of white oak. 74" ntn, 1.5" wide by 1" deep at the handle, 1/2" wide by 5/8" deep at the nocks, about 100#@32". Bone tip for the overlays. Thanks for looking!

Very nice
I really like the finish. What did you use to seal it?

Thanks for the comments guys!
MrWarSpoon, the finish is teak oil and then I wax the bow. Its a simple finish I use when I'm too lazy to do coats of polyurethane.
bobnewboy, Unfortunately I won't have access to my computer for the next few days so I can't post a pic. Nothing special about the arrow pass area though. I still have yet to put a bowyers mark.

I just wanted to see the laminations in a more side-on view. Pretty!

Very nice
Seems like the purpleheart has stayed fairly bright, which is a bonus!

Nice bow, Ryan! Your tiller is spot on. Have you tried white oak as a backing wood? I've heard it's good in tension. I have a hard time finding hickory for backing, but white oak is available.

Thanks guys.
adb, I haven't but I hear it's good as well. If using white oak as a backing, the only thing I'd worry about is run offs as the late wood still seemed fairly soft.

Shes a thing of beauty Ryan, great glue lines. It was fun seeing you and Tom shoot it at MOJAM. Better you than me. For me that'd be a nice bow blank for a hefty 60lber.
