Not sure where you're at in TN , but I've done geology web searches and TN is loaded with good knappable stone. A little research and I'll bet you'll find some places to look
.found some good buffalo river chert recently down near Parsons area.

Hey John: When i was staying at pappy's and working about twenty miles away i found quite a bit just stopping at creek crossings and walking them. Ton's of good stuff up there, just a matter of splunking around and not getting shot at

Im from the Johnson city, and anywhere from there to mountain city, all you have to do Is dig. Ask around with farmers in the area. Someones bound to have saved a chunk or two of stone they tilled up from the ground.

I would be happy to meet you and go to. I live by Ashville NC. nothing but hard !@# Rock. I would love to drive to Tenn, Ga or anywhere with in 2 to 300 miles to fill up my tundra. Going broke trying to save $$ to buy it
. I would even pay a little to get into someones land to get some. Has to be cheaper then buying by the pound
