Buckshot's first bow, it's a monster
« on: July 12, 2012, 08:46:11 pm »
Had to share this with all of ya. A while back I gave some wood bows to a neighbor, a 14 yrs old guy that's a natural. Well yesterday he went and did a glueup. Black ash belly and white ash backing.

He made the bow 58" ntn, 65# @ 28" (he draws 27" so he's drawin about 62#). He likes to do his tillering with a scraper only, and here is what he came up with. I think it's just terrific and told him so. I didn't get too many pics cause he was so excited he flat wouldn't stand too still. 8)

Enjoy the pics

Come on Rich, we know thats one of your bows.  ;)  Excellent bow, Buckshot. The full draw tiller is about as perfect as it gets. Well done!!!  8)

Rich, I'd say you rubbed off on him pretty good. That sure looks like one of your bends. Sweet!! 8)

Good tiller!
"The way of heaven is like the bending of a bow-

the lower part is raised up,
the part that has too much is reduced,
the part that has too little is increased."
