I've got a nice patch of switch cane growing next to the creek behind my house. I've been practicing straightening and smoothing some, I made a crude arrow with crude fletching, and just sharpened the tip to a point, and fired it off into the woods somewhere.
Back home, we have a large amount of flint, but down here in Georgia, all i can find are sedimentary rocks.
Are these too prone to chipping and falling apart to make decent arrowheads out of, or are they acceptable, and can anyone point me in the direction of a decent knapping guide?
