Hickory/Ipe Glue Up

Ipe loves Tb3.   You've got pretty good thickness.  One idea would be to flatten the central area and put a thin bell lam of something contrasting, like Wenge or Goncal Alves on to stiffen the mid=section and decorate.  Maybe 12" long.

  Rich,Fresh out of Buffalo Pee. Hey ,don't laugh at the oven cleaner.I've used it cleaning grease off of engine blocks.
