I was finishing the grip on this snaky piece of Osage I'm working on and started to build a grip around my hand...  it's a bit unconventional but it is literally the inside of my gripped hand..... To much???

he other side with inlaid antelope rest...

That looks good,I use to never make a locater grip,or cut in a shelf at all, over the years I have started doing it more, not to center shot but cut in some,it sure make tuning the arrows much easier and easier to get the same hand placement every time which translates into better shooting ,at least it does for me. :) Love that piece of wood you have there. :)

Now way, thats not to much, thats awesome! It looks great.
And i guess its a lot easier to achieve constant accurat shooting.

ps. How long is that bow and how wide are the limbs after the handle

I very much like the looks of the grip but I would never hold a bow like that,..I used to shoot alot of compound and recurve and I was taught to only losely hold a bow, not in the palm of my hand but more towards my thumb (don't know the correct english word for that spot)

I feel that such a grip will allow you to squeze a bow to easy,...just my opinon. Lets see the rest of the bow

Thanks guys...  pappy it just sort of happened!!! got it shootin pretty good and started fiddling with the handle and??? The stave only has the one bend in it but looks cool :)

Ha !!! Hawkman, a little tease never hurt anybody...  let me get her dressed and I'll come up with the goods  >:D

I just got done puttin Python skin on it... I'm going to leave the handle naked cause the skin is one piece...  That snake was a monster and I've got two more bows with it. ...  it's in the shop now with its first coat of tru-oil... It's 65"s and got a bit of snake in the bottom limb.

Stefan I held a compound and my recurve as you say but find that with hill style bows and my selfbows I grip the handle more....  like holden your girls hand, you know not to soft and not to firm :)

Here ya go Hawkman ...

Skins on and first coat of Tru-oil...
