Well here she is. Third bow, first board bow. Believe it or not this was the first board I picked up out of the rack at Lowes! (obviously I went through the whole rack to find its twin but was unsuccessful). Growth rings go straight from back to belly and straight from tip to tip with about .25" side to side wiggle for about 6-7"
"I'm Board"
Red Oak Board 68" t2t, 8" stiff handle, 1.5" limbs for 20" then tapering in width the last 10" to .5" nocks
56# @28"
One coat of walnut stain, 2 coats satin spar urethane
Handle is red oak from the same board.
Leather handle wrap with a extra piece tucked underneath for a small shelf. Got the leather from osage outlaw, thanks a lot!
Has about 1.25" set after shooting for a while, then goes back to around .75" set after .5 hr after unstringing.
Still have to cut up some beaver fur for string silencers.
Just the bare bones for this one, no tip overlays or backings (saving those for the next osage project
)
Seems pretty fast, no chrono though
Bow is facing opposite directions in the two pictures, must not have been paying close enough attention (too busy trying to get the thing balanced up there with the wind haha)
Sorry no one around for the full draw shot. I KNOW, I KNOW, I KNOW!! I'll get one up as soon as I can!
