I really do not know the answer on your question. I have not made any men's bows from ash but seems to me that junniper is better.

Common Ash is good bow wood in my opinion. The best characteristic of it is the fakt that there is a lot of it around here where i live
Juniper is very rare though.
Well it is a great bow, have fun with it!
