hickory stick, a few more pics

making this bow for a gift, hickory with black walnut & birdseye maple on the tips and handle areas, just a hair over 1 3/4" at the fades straight taper to the tips, had it glued up for a long time and finally got her done, Bub

i've drawn it to 30" but it's 65# @ 29", probablly only 28" in the FD pic, i did the ol' glued on reflexed tip job on it as well, man the pics are brite and i'm doing them solo but what do ya think, should i wrap the handle or let that birdseye show, Bub

I say leave the grip as is. That birdseye is sharp bub.

The maples to pretty to cover up .
I have to think outside the box .They caught me outside and changed the locks.

cant say on the grip wrap......but damned if that bend aint fine as frog hair. Your really makin 'em bend bub.

That is a purdy one, Bub. I wish I could figure out how you keep you handles from popping off. I don't see a powerlam and no belly lams.

thank's for all the compliment's guy's, lesken if you have a 3/4" board, and your limbs are under that when you start your fades then the grip shouldn't bend, no bend no pop, i also make my fades 2 1/2-3" in length, i think that helps, Bub

It didn't look that thick in the handle at first, but now I see. Yep, those fades do look longer than mine usually are....and you blend them so well!

Bub, that is a great looking bow.  I love me some hickory.  I don't think I would cover up that handle;  it looks great.
