ukulele world congress point(link added)
« on: June 05, 2012, 11:51:40 pm »
So I was @ a bif uke party in Brown County Indiana last weekend and had a little time between music and pbrs to make a point for one of my Buddies from MO, Thomy Palooza and was lucky enough to get a lot of it on video.  If I could open the vids w/ my dial-up, I'd tell you how sweet they were, but I haven't seen them yet.  Here's the poiont though.  It's either hornstone or TN black, I think it came from the pit @ the classic.  I'm pretty happy w/ it and I wasn't nervous a bit on video, it may have actually helped because I was explaining the whole process while I went along and was always checking myself.  I ended up getting it back and took my knife and flicked the flake on the first pic off.  Never got another pic after that. Anywho, here it is, thanks for looking.  Time to start a clovis next.  ;) dpg

A Uke Pic? That is a nice point!!
Bowmakers are a little bent, but knappers are just plain flaky.

Thanks Guys!  I was happy to see some flake scars that were planned. I'll have someone check out the link to the knapping vid made, so I'm not setting myself up.  Then I may post it too. Thanks again, dpg

Cool!  One of these days I'm gonna get a weekend in your neck of the woods and pick up some of that hornstone!  I spent last weekend in Western Ne.  Nothing but sand out there.  Good job on the vids.  Josh

Whisky Tango Foxtrot!! And you did not even stop for coffee.
Have to agree about the sand statement though. :'(

O:) I wasn't that far West  Bevan.  Otherwise I most certainly would have given you a call.  I spent one day in grand island and the next day in no. Platte.  I've been hauling out of McCook so I could quite possibly end up out your way anytime.  I never know where I'll be from one day to the next.  Josh
