Jon, that sling you braided up for me is nice. It chunks golf balls across my folks hayfield. Lots of fun to sling and send and that ball off

I'm also in Houston too, not as experienced as everyone else but would be happy to help test out slings or make shavings

Sounds like we need to get something going.
Get some Houston folks together on a Saturday or Sunday and make some shavings.
I would love to get started on making Strings, Cordage, and Slings.
My work area isn't the best at present but y'all are welcome to come by, we can get you started on a stave or board bow.

This weekend is a no go for me, so it would have to be the second weekend in June at the earliest.
I should get the Houston Get Together Thread going again so as not to clog up badcolesonbad's thread.
As well as letting other Houston Folks know.

Glad to hear it! Sure is fun... When ever I go golfing and am slicing like crazy, I pull out my "sling driver" (my secret weapon) and send one out there 200 hundred yards to the dead center of the fairway..

We can get going as early as folks want to.
I've got the band saw humming pretty nice so we have it available for wood work.
I have some Rock and tools available for knapping.

I'll throw something down on the smoker for us to eat.
