To support sustainable human civilization through the preservation of indigenous cultures and sound ecosystems, E.R.I. offers experiential workshops with Eastern Band of Cherokee elders and traditionalists, as well as primitive technologists and archaeologists from across the U.S. Topics range from flintknapping and friction-fire to straw-bale construction, food-canning and wildschooling. Lots of home-spun music in the evenings and home-made crafts for sale. Workshops begin Wednesday morning, October 4. Fee required. Fee includes—two meals per day, hot showers, composting toilet facilities, deadfall firewood, water, campsite and workshop instruction. Materials charge is rare and nominal.
