Grinding to thin?

I have 2 glass heads that are already sharp and at the shape I want, but they are too thick at the base, I was wondering if I could grind down the base for thinness, I might be able to use my notcher
To take off tiny flakes.

Sure, grinding works. Safer than thinning from the base the old fashioned way. Just don't breath the dust.
