I just got some rock from 119er and a nice point, Not sure of what the rock is, I believe he said it was citronelle gravel but I am quessing . I picked up this red pc and it knapped pretty good so here is my Pedernalis style point. Maybe 119 er will see this and ID the material. Bob

Bob, if you picked that up at the Classic it is some of the red Alabama jasper that Stringman and Shannon were knapping. Scott gave me a piece and said it was a special and rare rock. It did work different than anything I have worked.

nclonghunter, I just recieved this pc and lots of others from my pith trade with 119er. Lots of small flat creek rocks, maybe niner will come on and ID for me.

Scott, 119er lives in Louisana, wonder how close to Ala. or if same source of material. Looks exactly like the stuff you had. It was a small pc and had a real thin cortex an the very outside was real smooth and waxy, reminded me of a flat creek stone for skipping, Just under cortex was a lt. yellow layer not quite as bright as horsecreek.
