Ok I know this is late but I wanted to show my efforts of last month before I move on. Long and short is... I had no luck with the Folsom.








And my last attempt





So since I had no luck with last month I'll have to work a little harder to nail it this month. This is the bolen bevel from overstreet.

Thanx for the info stringman on the bolen one question from the pics it looks like it has one beveled  edge or can it have more? Like tower sed we dont have that style here in texas and if we do it prolly had a different name that i dont know

I believe the bevel refers to a single bevel edge on both sides. This is typically done on opposite sides. It can be a little tricky to identify except when looking straight on as though it were shot at you. From this view it appears to have a mild "S" shape.

Cool i always figured points that had a single bevel in one direction was from resharpening iv seen artifacts that had a cool propeller twist  from resharpening

Some bolens had a fancy expanded E-notch.
Bevel is opposite on each side.
 Don't forget about the blade core. Not only dose the cone look cool in a collection
but it's a good skill to have. Scap blocky shaped pieces from your debitoge pile make
good cores.
 I will not be home until some time next week. Ill try to get in on sept POTM befor it's over.

Stringman, tough luck on the buss Folsoms. Really good atempts for direct percussion flutting. I really beleave that they used some sorta pressure back in the day for those and cumbrrlands.

Well here is my first attempt at this bolen the one on the left with the stalled notch the other i broke the notch so i matched it on the other side

Scott, some real nice attempts at the folsom, I had a real hard time with it an I was using a jig I,m with Jesse on somehow ancients used inderct pressure especially with the long fluted styles. Sterling ,looking good, Is your material some knife river, sure looks good.  Bob

Its some kind of solidified clay i got from tower at the last knapp-in i had at my house  it is hard to work. It crushes real easy kinda in between burlington and glass in workability
