When people ask "why didn't you do that the first time" you can be sure that they  have never made a bow before.

you are so lucky, my school doesnt even have a woodshop, one hting i should probly add, is dont try to teach to many people at once, with to many things going on things could go wrong very quickly
warbows and fishing, what else is there to do?

i think the best way is to work along side of your buds and let them ask for any help, most people learn better by watching and doing, not by listening to someone talk, just keep it simple and fun, Bub

Yep bub, everyone will be working,
I will keep it simple with red oak board bows.
I hope they have enough straight grained boards at home depot
I will try to make a really pretty one for the teacher who is letting us use his workspace.(hopefully it wont blow up on him ::))

Fishie: technically it's not "shop" but "tech"(same thing) I just figured that more people on this site would know it as shop class.

Good Idea, YB2.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit, JW. ::)

Yep bub, the pyramid red oak buildalong from TG
JW... Ooh man.... I have been known to rant for hours about that, I don't live in an area w/ high crime or anything, no cops at school, no metal detectors, no nutin...
One of my friends was suspended for having 16D duplex nails "on his person" (he was shaping them w/ the tools in tech. The only reason the" suspender" knew That he had them was that one was poking out of the top of his pocket as he brought 'em back to his locker.
And in low intermediate school, this Same kid was suspended fo having a nail clipper on his belt loop
Because of the thing that u get the dirt from under your nails with A FRIGGIN NAIL CLIPPER

This same kid will be making a bow with me so I made sure to pull out all the stops and get permission from everyone, this kid seems to attract bad luck in this field :P

P.S. I will try to take pictures but school might have rules against it  :'(

But seriously, as long as there are no arrows involved we should be fine

YA HEAR THAT HAYAWATHA(Josh S) "NOARROWS IN SCHOOL EITHER"  >:D

Like the kid that was suspended for a year (evil 6 yr old) for bringing an M-16 to school.  Mind you it was plastic and was an accessory for his GI Joe!  Yeah, but someone could have mistaken it for a real gun!  Right!?!

Hmm... I guess you win, I was gonna mention the cub scout who wanted to eat his schol lunch with his "pocket utensil" that looked too much like a pocket knife(it was a openable spork)
But the GIjoe gun takes the prize... Well that's the system for ya!

I am lucky that they don't think a half made bow is like a half made gun, or that a shootable bow w/o arrows is like a gun w/o bullets.
I am glad that the state keeps our schools safe, I just wish they used some sense >:(

I will be sure to make other kids (including myself)take them home in PVC pipes so that nobody gets in trouble(presuming that some bows survive ;D)
