Looking for a basket quver...
« on: April 09, 2012, 05:21:26 pm »
Hi guys..

I am looking for the basket portion of a basket quiver...  It does no have to be fancy or have a shoulder strap/ other accessories... I really just need the basket. I will be putting 25" long arrows into the quiver so a basket that is about 22" long from top to bottom and maybe 3-4" wide at the mouth would be about perfect.. For trade I have a NA bamboo flute, atlatls stained to your preference, and a bamboo backing strip. Pm me if your interested... Thanks.

I've made a couple. I don't have anything to trade, but they are actually pretty fun to make. I watched a youtube video on how to make a circular basket, and just made a smaller circular basket and made it real tall. This was out of fresh buckeye bark from a small sapling. I think most thin smooth bark would work. Yall should give it a try! :)

Is there a certain material you would like it to be made from?

Not particularly.... Could be commercial cane materials if that's what you have... Do you have any pictures of your work?

Hi Bald moose,

Those look like some nice quivers. I read in your post that you did not think that they were very durable however and  am looking for something that will hold up to some use... Thanks.

My wife makes basket quivers...if you are interested in the style of the quivers in the photos, let me know and I'll check with her (one is mine and the other two are my childrens).  She can dye the reed to the color of your preference...she also adds a round disk of wood in the bottom of the quiver to help prevent the arrows from damaging the reed.

Also a friend of mine (Glen Mucha) makes some very nice basket quivers based on a Native American design...I belive 3Rs offers his quivers.

Thanks,
Dino

Hey everyone! I just got this quiver and it is an absolute beauty! Very lightweight and feels sturdy enough to last a long time.. Very quiet as well with a little foam padding on the bottom... If you ever need a basket quiver, Dino's are some of the best...

Thanks again man,

Jon
