A perfect bow.....thanks bubby
« on: April 23, 2012, 03:59:32 pm »
Received a bow today. A bendy handled sweetheart from Mr. Bubby. I'm about 66yrs old and been shootin all kinds a bows since about 1963. I got bows made by Fred Bear himself, Brownings and Howett's and a bunch of hand mades. None of them shoot as well as this bow does....just a fact.

It is well mannered, no hand shock, and shoots my telephone poles flat at 25 yards....it's VERY fast with these hunting arrows, and shoots as hard as any bow I have ever shot.....ever. So I promised I'd tell Bubby what I thought when it got here.....well it's the #1 dog in the kennel, gonna go huntin till I cant pull it no more. Had to name the bow "bubby"....it's gonna get the name gold leafed tomorrow.

Didn't mean to embarrass him, but this is one of those once in a lifetime things where everything just comes together perfect.....the man builds very very good bows and thought ya ought to know it.
rich
PS: Bub, it's lean and mean and fits me to a tee....wont ever be able to make it up to you. It's perfect, sir !!!!

Bub you are the man friend, but I didnt need ol' Rich to tell me that. I already knew.

Rich if his bows are half what his knives are then Im guessing your words are 120% true. Enjoy that bow buddy.

sorry fellas, bubby posted it a while back....so I didn't put the stats up....here they are:

hard maple backed Ipe
just over 50" ntn, nicely executed pin knocks
did not weigh it but it is every bit of 60+ at 26" (at least a grunt and a half)
no set, no follow & has slightly flipped tips

It draws very smoothly all the way to where I cave, and at 20 yards the arrow seems to hit as soon as let go, it's very quick. I hear ya dragonman...they are nicer than I make for sure.

I know how to settle this.  Both of you send me a bow and I'll be the judge!  ;)

You're both top-notch bowyers and I really enjoy seeing your work.
