Something I am going to keep in my kit.
« on: April 21, 2012, 12:07:41 am »
Got some rocks from a supplier today. Just for kicks and giggles I got some pre shaped fiber optic arrowheads. they are slab and kind of small. I tried it and like I said. I am keeping some of them in my kit. When I am somewhere and someone new is watching in an interested fashion. I am going to sit them down and have them pressure a fiber optic point. It is easy (easier than glass or obs). Almost assured of a point. What better way to get someone hooked than to have them successfull on their first attempt.

Where do you get fiber optic glass? I've heard of it in cables obviously but never in slab. Can you only get it from rock/glass shops? Didn't really find anything on google.

Sounds fun to work with and looks like there's lots of colors.

I will weigh the 2 I have made and post the results. I wish the 'blanks' were a little bigger but I do not want to pay for bigger slab size.
