I had Good Friday off work and decided to start a new bow. I grabbed what I thought was a fairly clean stave..........then I got the bark and sapwood off. Two knot holes through, one in each limb. Then each limb has a super glue soaked rotten knot that didnt quite poke through the back. And to top it off an undulating crazy back. Its rock solid wood and the build turned out to be a quicky. I peeled bark, chased a ring and roughed the bow to a good floor tiller on Good Friday morning, then set it aside. I tillered it out and shot it in this weekend. Im leaving it as is. I will just seal it up and shoot off my knuckle. Its 60" ntn, roughly 1 1/8" wide and 50# @ 27". I made an 8 strand D10 string, padded to 12 strands at the loops. It sure quiets it down, speeds it way up and dampens it considerably. No silencers needed whatsoever.
