Trade bow received! (pic heavy)
« on: April 15, 2012, 03:52:25 pm »
I got my trade bow last week from wildkatt! Woohoo! This past week was crazy, so I was delighted to have the time Saturday evening to go out to a field with a friend and shoot lots of arrows. Of course I had to use my new bow  ;)

Wildkatt made an excellent osage short bow. It's about 55" nock-to-nock and pulls 45# @ 24". It has practically zero string follow and some nicely flipped tips. It's a great bow to shoot and will make a fine hunting weapon. I also really love the details he put in, the horse hair, feathers, leather handle... Looks great!!

So here are the photos from our evening of fun, hope you enjoy! If you want me to take any other specific shots let me know.  ;D

Great bow Matt.  I recently inquired about some osage staves that katt had.  We agreed on a swap, some osage for some hickory.  Well, I got more than I bargained for.  I received a real nice stave...with what I believe is a twin to your bow.  I was definitely surprised and did not expect it because I'm not involved in the trade bow....yet.  Katt went way out of his way for me.  It was like X mas in April.  I felt like Ralphie in "A Christmas Story" when he gets his bb gun and runs out of the house with his PJ's and boots.  Which is true, I did run out of the house in my PJ's the next morning.  Don't worry I didn't shoot my eye out.  Katt, love the bow.  Thanks bro.

You do make some really nice bows wildkatt. Very very nice.
"The way of heaven is like the bending of a bow-
the upper part is pressed down,
the lower part is raised up,
the part that has too much is reduced,
the part that has too little is increased."
