Thanks for the glue tip Justin! I know I've read it hear a thousand times on different glues and stuff, but so many things to remember when you haven't tried things for yourself. I'll see if I can't locate some of that Knox somewhere.

I hadn't noticed that you had backed it with sinew. Did you reflex the bow when you did that? That IPE must be working that sinew really well

Marc, I didn't reflex it at all. This is actually my first sinew backed bow. Up until now I have only used sinew to patch stuff and when I was testing glues. Trapper gave me all kinds of info on sinew backing bows. I was just building this bow for practical experience. I'm going to make a sinew backed Ipe next, but it will be a little longer. Justin

You get more work out of sinew if you reflex it some, even if it's just a couple inches

I was under the impression it would take some reflex as the sinew dried. I think the Ipe will maintain its profile no matter what.
I will add reflex to the next one, but I will also add more sinew. Justin
