Saturday Points
« on: April 01, 2012, 09:17:42 pm »
While I was cussing about missing the PITH deadline by a day, I had some time to set down and knap a little.

I almost made a knife with this one but decided to make a point instead

The big ugly one top right is going to be for an altalt dart.

The big ugly green one in this pic is for an atlatl dart also.

Nice to work so many kinds of material,I do the same thing, does tend to make alot of different styles. Seems the rock helps decide what a point is going to be. Nice work !  '  Frank

Nice set of points indeed!! Oooh, that TX sure does look brutally hard - ouch :).

It is brutal sometimes.  I think I need to figure out how to heat treat the rock I got from Cipriano.  It makes the bone spurs in my shoulder scream.

Easy fix. Bury between 2 and 3 inches in dry sand (or whatever kinda dirt ya got), get a fire going and keep it going all day on top of it, skip a day and dig em out. Voila - cooked perd :).
