New turkey whacker...."WHD"

Bill Dempler was his name and raising kick butt hedge was his game..................not by choice! Bill passed just a few months back and I asked his son Joe if I could name my first bow from the farm wood after his dad. He was honored and the game was on! This is she. 60" ntn, 48# (for now)@ 28". Its 1 3/8" wide 12" beyond the fades tapering to 1/2" tips. The back has two layers of sinew and one 1/2" band down the center. I used hide glue for that. The skins are WDB from Cippy. The tips are wenge and osage lam'ed together. Im trying an 8 strand D97 string. WOW that speeds a bamboo shaft right up! :o Turkeys hunting is right there with deer hunting for me! They better be ready this season!

you have my admiration and respect. pd you turn out bows that are amazing . back to back i might add. each bow you build im learning something new
i can also see you are not afraid to take risks. it seems to work out for you, you are well on your way to being an artisan bowyer. rv

Nice bow, Drums!  Starting to put a liking on that hide glue, aren't ya?  Yep, it seems as though I process as much sinew as I do staves.  Good on ya!
