hickory board bow
« on: March 25, 2012, 03:55:10 pm »
Ok, so school is out for a week and i finally got a little more time in the shop and less time in the books (thank You Lord). I'm actually going on vacation today, however i needed to feed the addiction, so i whipped this baby out yesterday. Lemmie know what you think, how can i improve my skills. It's from a hickory plank i had hanging around, 66'' NtN, #52 @28'' of draw and Ipe tips. Hope you guys have a good couple days, and may God bless you! Roy.

How can you improve your skills...
Hmmm well, the composition of you full draw pho could be better, but other than that, I think you have it nailed :)
Try you hand on some staves, sapling bows or other styles, that will test you a bit more and teach some new skills maybe.
Failing that, you could try it blindfold or underwater >:D

The only thing I would say is you need to round your edges more - to the radius of a pea. Apart from that good work.

Very nice! Weren't you worried about that knotty area of the board near the knock area? I'm I wrong to steer clear of those?

Great job on a "whipped out" bow. lines are sweet and full draw screams "death to edible creatures!"  :)
