Proper bend, good work. One question: is there some special reason for keeping even thickness of stiff parts? You would loose lot of mas tapering there thickness to the end and they still would be stiff.

Short anwser..no;-). I would normally reduce and taper the levers and then use wrap-on nocks. I chose not to do that because i wanted cut-in nocks and clean lines (its not for me);-).

@mikekeswick
I have about 1/2" set (it was drawn to 30" by my father...lets call it a torture test;-). I normally heat threat all my Elm and Yew bows...but this one I left natural. Again...had it been for me, I would have toasted it;-). I have little to no experience with ash, or heat treating the stuff.

Unfortunatly this bow most likely wont see much shooting....If it can spark some interest and conversation at the 3D event, it will be all worth it though:-)

Cheers

That's a nice little bow, looks like you nailed the tiller.  I'm working on a similar bow right now, made from chokecherry.  It's a little longer, around 68".  It will be my first stave bow - if it turns out half as good as yours looks, I'll be happy.

great looking bow.  Really love the way ash looks, prettiest of the white woods I think.
