Protecting snakeskin backing

I thank all you guys for your help!
You and my bowyer buddy have a game plan that should work quite well.
Once it is done I can post a pic!

My plan though is...
wrap ends in artificial sinew, perhaps about 4 inches in length.
Then once it is secured, finish with tru-oil.

If I get any other clever ideas I will definitely post them but this seems like the simplest way to save the bow.

Update!!
Finished art. sinew wrapping on ends and dyed tips black.
Bow delivered and test shot yesrerday!
It looks and shoots ike s dream!

It does get the whole bow in the shot though.
