I found my kayak bow.   for now anyway.  I won't feel bad about dropping it in the water or sawting a fish in the head with it.

Not like his...Watch the other videos.

I'm going to try and make one for my kayak bow... something I don't mind dropping in the water or smacking a fish over the head with.

I'll still make a wood one... don't worry.  I'm just realizing that it's going to mean SInew.  But then sinew and water aren't great friends.... unelss I use TB3 I guess.  But I get the sense that isn't the greatest path.

this should probablly be in around the campfire as it's not a wood bow

Just stand back when it burns and don't breath in the fumes.

Bubby is right, this belongs in around the campfire section.
Thanks for posting it though. We have members looking for PVC bow making info fairly often.

they do shoot allright, but i just don't want to put a ton of time in one when i could be making a nice wood bow, arrowhead, quiver........, to many hobby's and so little time, Bub

yeah it's worth trying, i've made a few like the one i posted, gonna give it to a buddy to practice mounted shooting, that way if he drop's it and it gets broke no big loss, i'll just build him another 20 min. bow, till he decides he want's something a little nicer, then i'll build him one of those, Bub

Yeah, I think this might be something my youngest would enjoy as his attention span isn't enough for trad wood bow yet and then he can abuse the snot out of if he chooses (and this might be a great tool for them to use if they want to try some bowfishing for carp this year.  Pretty cool for plastic...

I have some of that grey heavy wall schedule 40.  I was making Bahimanian Slings with it and fiberglass rods with a nail in the end.  Called it the "Lion Tamer".
He has some running up to 70 lbs but the arrow speed wasn't any better than the 35# bows.  My question is what is better for driving a heavy arrow through a big fish... speed or pundage?
