TX brown chert
« on: February 29, 2012, 11:06:57 pm »
Today I found a little time to knap around a bit. I made this point out of some chert I found in the Colorado river here in TX. Its kinda tough raw but with a littel heat it some of the most delicate material I've knapped. I broke the tip , so I hate to rework it. Messed the base up. The pictures are a little old I have touched up the tip & base since they were taken. I like the flake scars. It 97 grains , think it will make a good one for next year. Tower

I love it! Every point you post, I have to study the way you set up the notches.

That point is killer! Well done. Your abrader and its shape caught my attention. Do you strategically use it to get the most out of it?

I wanna thank everyone for the kind remarks . I love this thing we call Knapping. Tracy, I have two fine abraders I use for finnishing an edge & they both look alike. Is nothing intentional just kinda works out that way.
