Thinking about building myself a yew bow. My standard style of bow, rigid handle. I would like it to be un-backed. about 1\4" or 3\8" of sapwood and then the rest heart of course. I want it in the mid 60#s at my short 25 or 25 1\2" draw length. how short of an unbacked yew bow can I get away with. I can build osage bows 60" long and 25" draw all day long, but I dont know what I can get away with with yew.. any thoughts.
? again, un-backed, 65ish pounds at 25" how long? I'd be super happy with 61" long but I coul dbe very happy iwth 62 or 64. 66" just seems so long to me after shooting 61" on a regular basis.
