Greetings Ya'll

Just thought I would pop in and introduce myself and let you know a little bit about me...
I have been reading PA off and on for the last five years and absolutely love the idea of making my tackle! I have yet to make anything but have started on blunts (today is day one  :laugh:) and have some wood that I have cured for a self bow..... For everything I am mostly going to use local materials..... I noticed that everyone likes pics and regular updates so I will do my best to make those of you happy to that respect.

I am born, bred and raised in Southern California, Bevan. I live out in the sticks away from all the hustle, bustle and noise if you believe such a thing exists in So. Cal. LoL

Legionnaire is in your area, relatively speaking.  He builds some really great native American stuff.

Lived for a time in Fallbrock (between LA & SD) while in the service. Still have family in SD & LA as well. Welcome and looking forward to getting to know you.

Thank you Halverson (Mr.? Or is it your city?), I will have to talk to Legionnaire some time.

Fallbrook is not far from me, Bevan. I often have to go back down there for work... I live in a small town called Anza, North East of Fallbrook maybe 30 miles as the crow flies. It is not on most maps. We are a "high desert".
 
So, if anyone out there needs me to find something native to deserty areas let me know. :D

Lol, sure I'll do the dishes and cook.... Made the Borscht last night, cannot wait to see what it tastes like tonight.

Borscht?  There is nothing better at this time of year than hearty peasant soups.  I'm coming out of a nasty cold/flu/whatchamacallit and you'd think I would be sick of soup by now, but I'm thinking of whipping out a batch of borscht for supper!  Oh, and some dark rye bread with cheese on the side.

Rofl! I had to explain to a Texan yesterday what a "peasants soup/stew" was. I used the recipe in the latest PA... Best one I have ever had (sorry, but I had to cut the carroway back so my kids would eat it)

Adding caraway to my grocery list...gotta have it in my rye bread recipe anyway.  Yeah caraway can get carried away sometimes.   Young palates are not resilient enough to tolerate those stronger flavors.
