So a few months ago I was showing my wife's cousin some of my bows..He asked to shoot one of them and under a watchful eye I obliged him. He shot well and quickly fell in love with primitive bows. I gave him a linen backed maple molley, that he shoots really well, for his birthday. As he became more interested he wanted to make a bow of his own. I provided a Hop-hornbeam stave with some character...Not the best stave for a beginner, but at least it was dry...After heat straightening, heat treating, and many days of tillering..He ended up with a 68 inch flatbow 1 3/8 wide.Pulling 52#@26" It's a good shooting bow with a pretty cool character knot in the top limb. I know the full draw looks off,but he cants the bow pretty hard.. He couldn't be happier. Thanks for looking...More photos to come after finish work.
