Thanks Sadie I'm working on a three pronged fork to go with it and maybe a ladle too.

That's cool. With all the cedar I have piled up I need to try some of that.

Bust out a can of beans, I wanna see that spoon at full draw!  You got a strong candidate for Spoon of the Month!

Mcginnis, you cant take just about anything that JW says too seriously, unless its about bow building.  He's like our local comedian.  Nice spoon!
You skin that smoke wagon and we'll see what happens!---Are you gonna do something? Or just stand there and bleed?

Since this is a website dedicated to weapons.....that spoon in first choice for serious cereal killers.

All seriousness aside, spoon carving is a specialized woodcarving craft.  Our local woodcarvers club has an annual competition just for spoons.  I've carved a few "getting by" spoons while camping and it's not as easy as it looks.  This one has nice esthetics and remains functional.  Good work, man.

Thanks jw I love to carve about as mush as making primitive weapons. In my opinion its becoming a lost art and a lot of what I carve comes out more beautiful than anything I could ever buy. Its a shame that there isn't a woodcarvers club around here I would definitely love to join one. BTW I have just found more ERC and its pretty seasoned all I gotta do around here is just check some of the fallen trees around here. They actually aren't that common where I live.

Just found this post
I have carved a few wooden spoons.
Still have the first two at home.
Will post a few pix of them if I can remember how.

Here are the first two wooden spoons I carved.
Both are made of widd "Black Cherry.

The longest one is about 14 1/2" long.
Gave it to my wife.  She uses it some and it has changed coler.

The other, I gacve to my Mom.  She does not use hers so it still has that red color to it.

Now, Lets see if I can post a pix.
