Good lookin' bow, Blackhawk. You guys amaze me. Your "demo" bows are better than my 1st line stuff. By the way, Kudos to Mom on the pics....even with the baby in her arms!!

nice work blacky , this is the style of one i built for the short bow challenge , mine didnt make it though . 32 inches tip to tip and it gave up at 24 inches . let me ask you this ... how do you feel the performance is on these compared to stiff handled mollys, reason i ask is we have had some discussion on the lever advantages stressing the working handle to the point of loosing the benefits of the levers. hope that makes sense, i guess no stiff handle = no rock to push against. just curious like i said me and rich discussed it but i havent had time to explore it yet .ken

Whew, that wood is workin' seriously hard.
Great job, and a brave man.
More inspiration for something else for me to try.
Nice one

thanks lesken...good eyes brother ;)

thanks ken...refresh my memory here...did you make yours in a deflexed handle and reflexed levers? i think the deflexed handle to start with before tillering really allows the bow to go to an extreme draw. by my string angle with this and mighty mouse it looks like i could go a few more inches easy. but wood the wood take it? if it did then i wood be drawing a few inches more than half the bows length with an unbacked bow. i think the tougher woods wood allow this overdraw for sure. i really like the benefits of sinew, but really is it needed? apparently not huh? even though yours broke its still an acclomplishment that you got to 24" before it broke. thats a long ways for a 32" bow. maybe the longer versions are a bit better and will allow the same ratio of bow lenght to draw length in a more "safe" manner due to there being a lil more wood available to work. i like the analogy of saying no rock to push against with the handle. i had the same thoughts as well. i also think its better as it seems to be just one working limb instead of timing and tying the two together to a stiff focal point where all the stresses meet. it seems more fluid and its components flow well from tip to tip. and boy is this puppy smooooooth drawing too. id like to hear more ideas if you have them ken..and tell rich to jump in as well. this is really what i want, and thats a discussion. i havent run mighty mouse or this thru a chrony to compare them to a stiff handled molly. but they are fast and not sure if i can tell a difference by just shooting alone.

thanks del...glad to inspire ya and hope ya give her a whirl ;)
