FIRE!
« on: June 17, 2013, 03:05:42 am »
Got a big fire about two miles from my house! Been watching the column most of the afternoon! Not sure how it started, possible to reach 2000 acres!  At least 6 aircraft, 6 dozers, 18 engines plus other personnel! Praying for the men and women on the fire line! Oh, By the Way - Happy fathers day to you all!

so far the winds have been in my favor and the fire is headed away from us. Not so for more than 400 people evacuated to the south and east of us. It is burning in mixed fuels with a fair bit of wind and temps in the 80s so far only about 20% containment.

We deal with this every summer here. Campfire restrictions are in place, but everyone watches the skyline.
