ash propeller twist

I have 2 ash staves i'm trying to make pyramid bows out of and the first I am attempting, one limb twists one way and the other the other way. Tried heating with my gun and twisting/holding for extended amounts of time to have them retract to their original position. any suggestions?

Rough them down to bow size and try again.

Some wood just doesn't want to be straightened.
It is possible to just leave twist and tiller it to still draw back in a straight line.
It requires enough width to adjust the string line as the tiller ing progresses and a fair bit of luck/patience/skill but sometimes it's just easier to let the wood bend in the direction it wants and to build the bow around that.
The character in the end result will also be well worth the effort if you succeed. I don't guarantee it will impress the girls tho' ::)

I would do what Pearl said,maybe rub it down with cooking oil and over bend it
about 1/2 again of what you want. :) If that don't work the what Del said will also work if it isn't so bad that the string won't stay on.  :) :)

I'd wait until first low bracing and see how the string lines up. A little twist won't hurt anything plus you can tiller out the twist so the limbs lay straight at full draw where it most important.
