Carp fishin' is slowly but surely beginning to get better this time of year in my location, with the peak of my luck starting in march and going through May for the larger ones.  I am trying to organize a list of those that would be interested in dried/descaled carp skin for backing, so that when I have a good supply of them, I can contact those on the list.  Preference of the skins will be given to the first guy on the list and so on.  I am doing it this way so that I don't forget anyone that has expressed an interest in my other posts.  Thank you for your interest and let's hope that mother nature makes this carp season a great one.  Ryan

I am totally in for some carp skins, I'll see what goodies I can pony up for a trade!

Hey Sir,

I'd love to get on the Carp Skin List.
Should I PM you a list of trade goods that I have available?
Or is there something in particular you are looking for?

Thank You,

-gus

Well Yes, I would like to try carp skin on a bow or two.   Thank you for the generous offer.   If you have a suggestion for a return trade just let me know.      Ron

Everybody that has responded so far has been written down..........   Looks like I will be fishing alot!!!!!  The main species of carp will be the common carp, the same type that Keenan used on his BOM carp/sinew backed juniper.  When I get a good supply of them, I will contact each person on the list in order and post pics of what's available.  Last year I had cut the skins into 2 inch wide strips, however this year I will be prepping the skins to be traded and leaving them whole so that the recipient can cut them however they would like.  I thought that doing it this way would give you guys more options as to how to use them, not just for decorative bow backing, but the whole skins would also make a neat decorative touch to the outside of a knife sheath or other primitive type art or projects.
