That's similar to the bow I was workin on for the trade. After seein yours, GMC, I guess I'll toss mine in the trash and start over.  :'(  I don't think I could ever get my tips that thin. The handle color is great, too. It really compliments the ipe. Rob really did a good job for you. Congrats!!

Thanks, guys. Greg, I'm sure glad it got there - I can stop sweating blood now. I sure hate to trust something like that to the post office or a courier. Lesken, I was sort of ashamed of my big fat tips, but when I got it shooting the way I like, I couldn't bring myself to fiddle with it any more.    Rob
If I knew what I was doing, I'd probably be bored with it, and I wouldn't be here.

putting the final coats of tru-oil on my yew bow. It'll be shipping out soon... if I can bear to let go of it. I've gotten pretty attached. I'm quite intimidated by my recipient, I hope he/she likes it as much as I do.

Well finally at long last, I got an opportunity to shoot my new trade bow.  Very fine indeed!  Dead in the hand at release, very fast, well balanced, almost silent, and did I mention fast.  It really snaps arrows out with authority.  Add in the fact that it has some natural character and I couldn't be happier!  Very well done Steve and thank you!  Josh

Wow, nice bow turtle! You're a lucky guy, Gun Doc.

I've never shipped a bow before. Any ideas about the best way to package it up?

The safest way is to get a piece of lightweight PVC pipe and a couple of end caps.  Others use carpet tubes.  Whatever you use, wrap it in bubble wrap or something similar so it doesn't move inside the package.  I like to give it a good shakin' after I package it and make sure everything is secure.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left
