Trade bow is packed up and in the mail!  :'(  I'm going to miss it. The recipient should get it by the 14th. I'll be anxiously awaiting a confirmation of delivery. I hope ***** enjoys it.

I sure hope I'm the one, Waylin, even if you did give that lovely bow some bad habits by pulling with the wrong hand. I would do my best to retrain it.
If I knew what I was doing, I'd probably be bored with it, and I wouldn't be here.

Oh man...Oh man....Oh man. That is a lefty...right? I did see that right, didn't I, huh, didn't I? Really nice work, Weylin. It just so happens, I'm a lefty. Now I won't get any sleep till somebody claims it.  :P

OK...I haven't had much time to do the finish work on the Hickory backed Ipe bow for the trade. I have had it tillered out for a couple of weeks, but needed to finish it up. I have seen some really clean looking HBI bows, but kinda wanted mine to look a little different. So naturally I stole ideas from some of the more creative bowyers that frequent this site. So far I used Tandy water based leather dyes...black and acorn color. The acorn color turned out kind of rusty-orange. I like it, but it messed up my ideas for the tip overlays. I was going to use yellow heart, but it doesn't match too well. Here is a pic with the stain and a couple coats of shellac. You have already seen the strung and full draw pics.

I still have to do the tip overlays and have decided to use whitetail deer antler and maybe some cow hoof. Since I have never made a bendy handle bow, the handle gave me fits. I wrapped the transition with goat lace. I'm thinking about redoing the handle. What do ya'll think?

Once I get the tips done and shoot it another hundred times, it should be ready to ship.
