Here are my two drawknives.

My Dad gave me the one on top.  I'm not sure where he got it.  It is the older of the two I think.  The handles have a dished out area where your thumbs sit.  If only it could talk.  I hope to wear the thumb grooves out a little more over the years.  I have used it to peal the bark and sapwood off of all those osage staves this fall.  It is very sharp still.  I cut my finger on the blade a couple of months ago.  I can't tell what brand it is.  I can see a few letters stamped into it, but can't make out what they say.  I can see a seam on the blade where it looks like it was made from two different kinds of metal.  I picked up the one on bottom from a local antique store for $20.  It is a pine knot.  I use it for chasing rings.  It isn't as sharp as the other one.

Mine is a cheap tool shop draw knife I bought at a home improvement store called Menards.

got my new draw knife today in the mail. got in ebay, thanks for that tip. it said antique but it looks like it's in really good shape.

The James Swan Co. USA

 is printed in the metal on the left end. anybody know anything about these, like when and where they where made. i got some wood that's been sitting for about three months so i'm gonna pic me out a piece tomorrow and see how it works. i'll try to get some pictures of the knife up by tomorrow evening.
