by now ya'll know i like carving arrow points outta bone.
my personal belief is that bone antler and fire hardened wood
was much more frequently utilized for arrows points than stone by the ancients.
now dont get me wrong i love a finely crafted stone point.
and would love to learn the process myself.
but the largish points i often see(maybe because of state laws)on "modern" primitive arrows
were not likely what you woulda seen on an arrow 400 yrs ago and back
most old "points" found today from ancient times were never intended to be used on an arrow.
but you guys probably already know all this....
soooo, since i cant knap, i carve points outta bone, antler and wood.
heres one im working on right now. a bud and i were talking about bone points the other day.
he didnt think they would really do the job.
i showed him this one last nite-he agreed he would not wanna be on the receiving end.
