How about a MI-JAM?
« on: January 13, 2012, 06:42:25 pm »
Imagine you're sitting around the campfire in Michigan with all of your PA friends.  Someone would be sure to say, "How 'bout a MIJAM?"

Well, a few of us have been kicking it around.  What do ya think?  Please reply with some feedback.  Thinking about Labor Day Weekend.

Would you want to come?

Cool!! Just saw this post. I'm there for sure!! What's the next step to making this happen? Let's do this even if there's only 3 of us there I'm good with that.

Its going to happen Dave. Its just a matter of planning and discussing. We have a location and basic intinerary. We are on the look out for some folks that are adept at knapping, raw arrow shafts and other primitive skills besides bow building. Michigan is covered in "closet" bowyers, we just need to get us all together. Keep your eyes open for other people with primitive skills and interests and get a feel of their interest level. Lets make it a grand ta-do!

Paulsemp:  We have a new baby on the way also.  Due in July, as well.  That is one reason why we are thinking the Labor Day weekend.  The month of July is pretty much out.  It would be great to have some Chicago flavor to the shoot.  Bring some Old Style with you and we'll toast the new babies!

Labor day is usually a crazy weekend, most folks have plans set every year, but I think I can make it happen. I can visit with the in-laws anytime>:D Looking forward to it. Pearl, I'll let you know if I can find a local knapper. There is a michigan flint knapper society or club...I think. Not sure where though.
