You got to love that,just beautiful.Very nice job on a very challenging piece of wood.
Did you leave the sap wood on that one ? kind of looks like you did.
Sonny use to do that on small diameter trees or limbs of Osage.

Pappy, the ring I worked down to is almost 100% heart except for a couple small places where it hadnt transformed yet. And the very tips have a bit.
